Appointments
1Are you an NHS dentist?
No, we are a private practice, but we offer an affordable Serenity Care membership scheme.
2Where are you based?
You can find us at East Street, Fareham, just off the Delme Roundabout (A27), postcode: PO16 0BY.
3Where can I park?
There is plenty of free car parking either to the front or rear of the practice.
4Do you have a payment plan?
Yes, we offer a 0% interest free payment plan for all of our patients. Treatment can normally commence quickly after signing an agreement and, of course, you will always have a 14-day cooling period.
5Is there any other way I can offset the cost of treatment?
Why not think about opening a Serenity Care membership plan. This is a very affordable package of treatments which includes a package routine annual maintenance appointments – two dental reviews, two hygiene appointments plus any x-rays spread over 12 monthly payments. There are many other benefits, including a 10% discount on all other treatments.
6Will I be given a treatment plan?
Yes, you will always receive a printed treatment plan to advise you. This will include recommendations for your oral health and maintenance. There is no obligation.
7Do I need to visit my dentist every six months?
Not always, but your dentist will advise you. If you become a member of the Serenity Care membership plan, it includes twice-yearly visits.
8If I have an emergency, how quickly can I be seen?
All of our patients will be seen the same day. The Serenity Care membership plan offers you a 24-hour phone number to call if you have a problem.
9What does a velscope do?
This is a device which screens for mouth cancer. All patients will be screened using a velscope at every routine check-up. Serenity is one of the few dental practices in the UK equipped with this.
Whitening
1How much does it cost?
For three appointments, it costs from £272. (on Serenity’s membership plan it’s only £244.80). You can carry out the whitening in the comfort of your own home, and at your own pace.
2How long does it last?
A treatment should last up to 2 years, however, you can top-up your treatment by coming into Serenity and buying some more gel for your whitening trays.
3If I need any crowns or veneers, can I whiten my teeth before?
Yes, we will then match them to your preferred whitened shade

Fillings
1Do you offer white fillings?
Yes. At Serenity we do not place any metal amalgam fillings.
2Will they look natural and match my existing tooth colour?
Yes, we have many shades of fillings.
3Will I need anaesthetic for my fillings?
That depends on you! We never rush our patients, so it’s your choice. We want to make you as comfortable as you can be at the dentist.
4How long does the numbness last after a filling?
Difficult one! The time varies between patients.
Oral health
1How long should I brush my teeth?
Ideally you should brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day.
2Do I really need to floss every day?
If you want to keep your gums in excellent condition, then yes! Remember, gums hold your teeth in!!
3How often should I change my toothbrush?
The simple test is to be guided by how your toothbrush looks. For example, are the bristles splayed everywhere? – As a rough guide, a toothbrush should be changed every 12 weeks.
4Can I use mouthwash instead of brushing my teeth?
Simple answer: no!!!
5Do I need to see the hygienist?
Yes, the hygienist is not just there to give your teeth a polish.
